How Hosting Your Event at Slate Works

No mystery, no guesswork. Just a clear path from “hello” to “heck yes.”

INQUIRE & TOUR THE SPACE

Submit an inquiry with your info, so that we have an idea what you have in mind. We’ll schedule your personal tour and send a reminder the day before with parking details and access info.

On tour day, you’ll explore the main room and the eclectic second floor. We’ll talk through your vision and answer your questions.

BOOK YOUR DATE

Love it? Secure your date with a 50% deposit (or pay in full if your event is within 30 days). We’ll finalize your contract and send your invoice.

PLAN YOUR DETAILS

For event décor and/or catering packages, we’ll schedule a planning meeting to design every detail. We’ll help select your vendors from our preferred list, manage timelines, and keep everything on track.

ENJOY & CELEBRATE

Show up on the big day and enjoy being a guest at your own event. Afterward, we handle teardown and the cleaning fee covers everything; your deposit is refunded in 24–48 hours if there’s no damage.

  • A 50% deposit secures your date; the balance is due 30 days before your event. Bookings made within 30 days require full payment. A $100 cleaning fee and $200 refundable security deposit apply to all rentals.

  • Up to 60 guests total, 50–60 standing, and 36–40 seated (cozy).

  • Yes, there are seven dedicated spots plus plenty of street parking on South Ave and Hickory St.

  • You bet! Slate, and its team are fully insured.

  • Yes, we do.

  • Both front and back doors lock automatically; we recommend keeping them closed once guests arrive.

  • Yes. We’ve curated the best local vendors and will match them to your vision and budget.

  • 11 pm is our latest closing time.

  • Yes—a small backyard area behind the parking lot.

  • Six handmade 6ft tables, 40 white metal chairs, 4 cocktail tables, and extra tables for food, gifts or games.

  • Full wedding packages include an on‑site coordinator; all other rentals include a point of contact for emergencies.

    If your event is not a wedding, but requires an onsite coordinator, we can chat about making that happen!

  • The main event space is wheelchair accessible, however, the second floor (with bathrooms) is not.

  • Two restrooms on the second floor.

  • Yes, you absolutely can. Slate on South partners with catering magicians, Seared & Sacchurum, to bring you the flavors you need for your event.

  • We hosted a Princess Tea Party with Belle at Slate and we were very happy with our venue choice! The venue is so bright, modern and aesthetically pleasing for any event. Plenty of space in the back, very clean, and bonus for the kitchenette. Parking is a little tight which means people do need to street park, but we gave our guests a heads up beforehand and we didn't have any issues at all. Communication with the team was prompt, and despite a small hiccup with our coffee bar everything was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be returning to Slate!

I loved the furniture options to create just the kind of mood we wanted (& she even sent a 3-D digital layout of the setup we had requested before the event). The whole space is beautifully appointed; loved the retro/funky art in the bathrooms and inside areas.
